The Columbia Center for the the Airways Clinical Research Centers has a wealth of experience in conducting clinical trials for asthma and other lung diseases. As Director of the John Edsall/John Wood Asthma Center Dr. Emily DiMango has served as lead or site investigator for over 20 clinical trials in respiratory disease, including the well regarded National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI) asthma networks (ACRN-1,2 and AsthmaNet). With Dr. DiMango as co-investigator, the Columbia center has recently completed a NHLBI sponsored multi-center study in severe asthma as well as led a multi-center study evaluating environmental allergen reduction on asthma outcomes. All trials are conducted in the state of the art Gunnar Esiason Adult Cystic Fibrosis and Lung Program, in one of three rooms specifically dedicated to clinical research.
