The Illinois Consortium (IC) consists of experienced investigators and coordinators who have worked together for up to 17 years and represent the major airways disease clinical research programs in Chicago. The physician leadership includes Lewis J. Smith, MD, professor of medicine, and Ravi Kalhan, MD, associate professor of medicine at Northwestern; James Moy, MD, associate professor of Immunology-Microbiology at Rush; Ted Naureckas, MD, Professor of Medicine at the University of Chicago; and Jerry Krishnan, MD, PhD, Professor of Medicine and Public Health at the University of Illinois at Chicago. The Illinois Consortium is also supported by an outstanding group of coordinators, led by lead coordinator, Jenny Hixon, who has served in this role for the Airways Clinical Research Centers (ACRC) for more than ten years. Since 2000, IC investigators have successfully completed more than 100 clinical trials including 14 ACRC trials.
