Finding Grief Support for Pulmonary Fibrosis

Coping with the loss of a loved one is extremely challenging. It brings up many emotions and it can take a while before you feel like yourself again. You do not have to face these feelings alone. There are steps you can take to help cope with your loss.

  • Sometimes writing can be therapeutic. Sharing your loved one's story can help bring much-needed attention to the disease.
  • Find a grief and bereavement support group by contacting your local hospital or transplant center. Many hospices and funeral homes also provide bereavement services.
  • Connect with others who have lost a loved one on the Caring for Pulmonary Fibrosis online support community on Inspire.
  • Consider talking to a professional. Discussing your feelings with a psychologist, social worker or counselor may be beneficial. Look for someone who specializes in loss, grief and/or bereavement.
