• Use a decision-making resource to work with your doctor to weigh all of your treatment options. Revisit this resource every time you have a treatment decision to make. This will help you know all of your options and the goals of each option.
  • Speak up about side effects. Talk with your doctor, a palliative care physician and other patients to get help with side effect management.
  • Take care of your emotional health. Talking about your feelings with a therapist, family and friends, and other people in your shoes can help you cope with your feelings.
  • Plan for your future now. It is not always easy to have conversations about what the future might look like when you have cancer. But taking the time to understand your benefits, get paperwork in order and meet with financial professionals can put your mind at ease and reduce stress later on.
