Gayle Ann Traver Pulmonary Nursing Scholarship

This scholarship has been established with an anonymous donation made in honor of Gayle Ann Traver, RN, MSN, a pioneer in the field of pulmonary nursing. She wrote some of the first texts and publications describing nursing's role in the care of respiratory patients. She has inspired advanced practice nurses for decades with her tenacity, dedication and professionalism. It is because of these qualities that we dedicate this scholarship in her name. It is the donor's wish that a qualified and deserving nurse receive financial support towards the goal of advanced education and training in respiratory medicine in order to provide patients with lung disease the highest order of care.

The 2024 Gayle Ann Traver Pulmonary Scholarship cycle is open for applications. Please make sure to follow the application instructions carefully. Incomplete applications will not be accepted. Applicants can fill out the online application below or download a hard copy.

A complete application includes:

  • Completed online (see below) or hard copy application
  • Current curriculum vitae or resume
  • Transcripts of undergraduate work
  • Three written letters of reference (see application for more details)

Please submit the application and all documents at once. Submissions that do not include all documents AND a completed application will be considered incomplete.
