Dr. Joi Lucas is a board-certified pediatric pulmonologist at Nemours Children’s Health. Currently, she is chief of pediatrics at Lakeland Regional Health and medical director of pediatric pulmonology at Nemours Children’s Health in Lakeland, Florida. Prior to this, she was co-director of the Cystic Fibrosis Clinic at Blank Children's Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. 

Dr. Lucas is a graduate of Howard University College of Medicine and completed her residency in pediatrics at Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. Her fellowship training in pediatric pulmonology was completed at Children’s National Hospital in Washington, DC, with research on plastic bronchitis in patients with sickle cell disease and congenital heart disease. She participates in the multidisciplinary Nemours Sickle Cell Clinic. Dr. Lucas is a member of the American Thoracic Society (ATS) and The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). In 2021 she published a book, Your Roadmap to Successful Asthma Treatment: A Parent's Guide to Preparing for Your Child's Doctor Visits and Long-Term Care.
