Gerardo Vazquez Garcia, MD, MS is a pediatric pulmonology faculty physician at Nemours Children’s Health in Jacksonville, FL, and assistant professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Florida. He received his bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Puerto Rico, his master’s degree in clinical pharmacology from Thomas Jefferson University, and his MD from The Ponce Health Science University in Puerto Rico. He completed a pediatric residency at Cohen Children’s Hospital in New York and pulmonology fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
Dr. Vazquez Garcia’s research interests are non-atopic asthma and asthma outcome measurements. He was awarded a Nemours Pilot Grant in 2020 for a feasibility pilot safety study to evaluate tiotropium as a controller monotherapy for the management of the pediatric patient with mild non-atopic asthma. He is also a co-investigator on multiple studies within Nemours and the ALA-ACRC including MATCH and the Lung Health Cohort Study.
