Jamie F., NY

For years, I’ve been trying to figure out what’s going on with our air. There would be times where the air felt so thick I was dizzy, had vertigo, couldn’t breathe right, my skin always feels like it has a film of slime at the end of my day. More specifically, the times I’d drive on the belt parkway or the Pulaski skyway in NJ, I’d see thick clouds of smoke emissions coming out of what I can only assume is the depart of sanitation sites. That was the worse feeling. I even got dizzy and my throat filled with toxic stuff you can just feel. It was gross. I would see drs to see what was wrong with me but they couldn’t see anythjng wrong or just performed the wrong tests. I got tired of seeing professionals and them telling me nothing was wrong. So I truly believe what is wrong is what’s going in our very own communities. I want to be part of the clean air initiative and so should all citizens. I hope as a  collective, we can figure how to reduce this health hazard or convince the departments that can provide a solution to be more proactive. This is a necessity!
