Having standing orders and a stock bronchodilator policy is so important because kids forget to bring their medications to school. I had to use emergency back-up medicine 3 - 4 times last year. If I had to wait for EMS, I'm not sure any of these children would have made it. Since we enacted our stock bronchodilator policy, I haven't had to send kids home for asthma exacerbations.
