This study identified important gene regulatory functions for specific groups of proteins in the early stages of lung cancer development. This is important because understanding how and why these proteins work could help identify and potentially target pre-cancerous cells for treatment. This study was funded by the Stand Up To Cancer-LUNGevity-American Lung Association Lung Cancer Interception Dream Team Translational Cancer Research Grant.
