This study found that zinc acetate therapy did not improve cough symptoms or measures of quality of life in patients with chronic refractory cough, despite its potential beneficial in the cough reflex pathway. These findings are important for real-world evaluations of new treatments for chronic cough. This study was done by the American Lung Association Airways Clinical Research Centers.
