Delivery of a novel membrane-anchored Fc chimera enhances NK cell-mediated killing of tumor cells and persistently virus-infected cells

This study discovered a new method of marking tumors to be targeted by natural killer cells. This is important because it potentially eliminates the need to search for unique cancer specific antigens and accelerate development of new antibody therapeutics for cancer. Senior author Griffith D. Parks received the Lung Association Lung Cancer Discovery Award for their work on using viruses to kill lung cancer cells.
