Impact of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 Pandemic on Physical and Mental Health of Patients With COPD: Results From a Longitudinal Cohort Study Conducted in the United States (2020-2021)
This study followed over 150 COPD patients during the COVID-19 pandemic, finding that participants were well-informed about COVID-19 symptoms, had strong social support, and reduced COPD flare-ups compared to pre-pandemic. This is important as it provides a successful framework of support for patients with COPD to better cope with the pandemic and resulted in risk reduction behaviors like social distancing and vaccines. This was a Lung Association Airways Clinical Research Centers study.
