Nicotine Free: Empowering Nebraska Youth to Choose a Lifetime of Health
The American Lung Association in Nebraska is expanding its efforts to prevent youth tobacco and nicotine use. The grant supports education and prevention work across Cass, Dodge, Douglas, Sarpy, and Washington counties in Nebraska.
Early intervention is critical; most individuals who use tobacco try their first tobacco product before they turn 18. Nebraska's Tobacco 21 law raised the minimum legal sales age for tobacco products from 18 to 21. This prohibits retailers from selling tobacco products to anyone under the age of 21. This new funding allows us to strengthen outreach, address rising vaping rates, and better serve the next generation of Nebraskans.
