Leadership Board for the American Lung Association in Wisconsin Awarded Gold Standard Distinction

Honor recognizes the highest level of volunteer engagement in support of the organization’s life-saving mission.

For the fourth consecutive year, The American Lung Association is proud to announce the American Lung Association in Wisconsin’s Local Leadership Board has been awarded the organization’s highest distinction, the Gold Standard level of service. This designation recognizes the all-volunteer Wisconsin Leadership Board’s achievements in fundraising, mission execution, awareness building and advocacy efforts in support of the Lung Association’s mission to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease.

“I am thrilled to accept this honor on behalf of the American Lung Association in Wisconsin’s Leadership Board whose singular vision always has been to make our state a healthier and better place to live,” said Sharon deGuzman, Chair, American Lung Association in Wisconsin Local Leadership Board. “Until lung disease is eliminated, we continue to welcome leaders from across Wisconsin to join us in this important mission.”

Local Leadership Boards must reach aggressive benchmarks of Board Operations to achieve the “Gold Standard” distinction. These benchmarks include ensuring diversity, equity, inclusion and participation, plus fundraising and mission engagement in their regions. Only eleven of the Lung Association’s 41 Leadership Boards have reached this level of distinction.
