Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield to Sponsor Milwaukee Fight For Air Climb

Annual event is back in a new building in downtown Milwaukee

Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield has signed on to be the presenting sponsor of the American Lung Association in Wisconsin’s annual Fight For Air Climb-Milwaukee.

This is the 16th anniversary of the event which is back in a new building at 411 E. Wisconsin Center on Saturday March 9, 2024. Climbers of all skill levels will climb 30 floors as many times as they can to raise funds to help find a cure for lung disease which includes the Anthem Firefighter Challenge. Participating firefighters will also take part in the Anthem Firefighter Challenge as they climb in full gear weighing nearly 50 pounds.

“We are honored to once again serve as the presenting sponsor of this iconic event, something we have done since its inception,” said Paul Nobile, president of Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield in Wisconsin. “Our ongoing support of the Fight For Air Climb-Milwaukee event echoes our unwavering commitment to fostering a healthier Wisconsin and underscores our relentless efforts to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those grappling with lung diseases."

Milwaukee’s Fight For Air Climb attracts thousands of climbers of all fitness levels and includes ages 6-90+, and it’s the largest event of its kind in terms of fundraising and participants.  If you can walk a mile, this event is for you.

“Without the continued support that we receive from local presenting sponsors like Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, the events and services that we provide would not be possible” said Megan Cordova, executive director of the Lung Association. “Events like the Fight For Air Climb help raise funding so that our organization can offer critical services and educational information about lung disease to the community.”

The first wave of climbers will start making their way up 411 E. Wisconsin Center at 7 a.m. with the Anthem Firefighter Challenge set to begin around 10 a.m.
