A Breath of Fresh Air: Lung Association to host Inaugural ‘The Affair for Air Gala’ to Support Lung Health

Hundreds to dress to impress at the one-of-a-kind event

Glam up and get ready to party with a purpose at the American Lung Association in Rhode Island’s inaugural The Affair for Air Gala, presented by CVS Health. This one-of-a-kind event will be held at the Graduate Hotel in Providence on Friday, November 14.

Festivities kick off at 5:30 p.m. and attendees are encouraged to dress to impress and wear blue to the black-tie optional affair.

Attendees will be immersed in a dazzling program featuring a plated dinner with exquisite local cuisine and open bar (beer and wine). Guests will also find live and silent auctions with items ranging from one-of-a-kind experiences such as a Tuscany (Italy) experience, a tropical vacation, Red Sox and Patriots tickets, plus trips to NYC and Boston.

The night will also include a special Mission Moment, featuring Allison Lipka as the evening’s Mission Speaker. Lipka’s mother recently passed away, and she will share her touching story with attendees as a powerful reminder of the impactful work being done to improve lung health.

CVS, in addition to being the presenting sponsor, will also be presented with the Landmark for Lung Health Award in honor of being tobacco free for more than ten years.

“This is our first year hosting The Affair for Air Gala,” said Daniel Bowler, Executive Director, American Lung Association, Rhode Island. “The atmosphere will be electric, and attendees will have an unforgettable night at this unique event to promote lung health… because if you can’t breathe, nothing else matters.”

All of the mixing and mingling will help raise critical funds to support lifesaving research, local programs and advocacy for some 181,000 people living with lung disease in Rhode Island.

Tickets to the event are $250 each and you can visit TheAffairForAir.org for more information. To request an interview with a representative from the American Lung Association, please contact Janye Killelea via email at [email protected] or call (312) 940-7624.
