Walkers Raise More than $63K at LUNG FORCE Walk in Roger Williams Park

Funds raised will help Rhode Island residents with lung disease

More than 250 people laced up their gym shoes and took to the trails of Roger Williams Park for the American Lung Association’s LUNG FORCE Walk.

Participants power-walked, strutted and strolled along the river to help the 153,000 Rhode Island residents living with lung disease and raised more than $63,000…and counting.

I am grateful for each walker, and spectator who joined us today and happy that together as a community to celebrate lives impacted by lung disease and to help find a cure for lung cancer, the number one cancer killer,” said Daniel Miramontes, executive director of the American Lung Association in Rhode Island. “We raised over $63,000 in critical funds for the Lung Association, because if you can’t breathe, nothing else matters.”

The Lung Association looks forward to next year’s LUNG FORCE Walk and to continuing its commitment to improving lung health and preventing lung disease.
