Stair Climbing for Healthy Lungs: American Lung Association’s Fight For Air Climb Returns to Three Logan Square on April 11

Celebrating 20 Years of Climbing for Lung Health

On April 11, 2026 the American Lung Association in Philadelphia will host its 20th annual Fight For Air Climb at Three Logan Square, bringing together more than 600 participants, including firefighters and first responders, to take on the 1,088 stairs of the Three Logan Square building. The Climb raises awareness and critical funds to support healthy lungs and clean air.

“"For 20 years, the Greater Philadelphia community has climbed hundreds of stairs to raise awareness and critical funding to support the 973,200 people in the Greater Philadelphia region who live with lung diseases like asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and lung cancer,” said Caroline Hutchinson, Executive Director at the Lung Association. “We’re inviting everyone to join us on the stairs to support our family, friends and neighbors who fight for every breath. Each step takes us closer to a world free of lung cancer and lung disease.”

Everyone can climb—from beginners to seasoned athletes. How you climb is up to you: take it fast or take it slow. With 1,088 stairs, 50 stories, and incredible views from the top, Three Logan Square provides the perfect setting for a morning of healthy activity.
Three Logan Square has been a landmark on Philadelphia’s skyline. Since 2007, its stairwell has hosted the Fight For Air Climb, where thousands of participants have climbed step by step to raise awareness and critical funds for lung health. The event has become a signature tradition within the building, made possible through the partnership of Brandywine Realty Trust since it acquired the building in 2010.

For more than 16 years, Brandywine Realty Trust has generously hosted the Fight For Air Climb at Three Logan Square, supporting the event through sponsorship, team fundraising, and its engagement with industry partners. During that time, Brandywine’s efforts have generated approximately $188,000 to help advance the Lung Association’s mission. Their continued partnership has played a vital role in sustaining this lifesaving event for the Philadelphia community.

Over the past 20 years, the Fight For Air Climb – Philadelphia has rallied more than 10,000 participants and 122 companies, raising over $3.4 million to support lifesaving research, advocacy and programs that help everyone breathe easier.

By joining the Fight For Air Climb Philadelphia, participants help advance the Lung Association’s work to end lung cancer, improve air quality, reduce the burden of lung disease on individuals and their families, and create a tobacco-free ‑future. If this year’s fundraising goal is reached, the Philadelphia Climb will surpass a cumulative total of $3.7 million raised cumulatively since its inception. Ninety cents of every dollar raised supports research, programs, and advocacy.

Stair climbing has significant health benefits. It is a great workout for your lungs and heart, strengthens major muscles and improves balance and coordination.

Registration for the Fight For Air Climb Philadelphia is now open for individuals and teams, which can include friends, families, running clubs, social groups and companies. For more information, visit FightForAirClimb.org/philadelphia.
