UnitedHealthcare Steps Up to Sponsor the Lung Association’s Fight For Air Climb

High-energy stair-climbing event returns to 411 E. Wisconsin Center on March 21

The American Lung Association of Wisconsin is pleased to announce that UnitedHealthcare has stepped up to be the presenting sponsor of the 18th Annual Fight For Air Climb Milwaukee. This is the first year the health organization is the presenting sponsor of this unique event which takes place on Saturday, March 21st at 411 E. Wisconsin Center.

Participants ages 6 and up, at any fitness level, will climb 30 floors to the top of the tower to raise awareness and critical funds for programs, research, and services to help nearly 800,000 people living with lung disease in Wisconsin.

“The Fight For Air Climb is a wonderful opportunity for everyone to come together as a community to raise money for education and research to help end lung disease,” said Dustin Hinton, Wisconsin Employer & Individual CEO at UnitedHealthcare. “We are honored to be the presenting sponsor of this year’s annual event, which helps bring awareness to the Lung Association’s mission.”

This year’s climb will once again feature a friendly Firefighter Challenge with more than 204 firefighters and first responders from across the state.

Firefighters are regularly exposed to smoke, gases, chemicals, and other substances that can be damaging to their lungs, putting them at an increased risk for lung disease. The lung health effects from firefighting include lingering cough, hoarseness, asthma, and bronchitis. Extreme cases include chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and lung and bronchial cancers.

“The Fight For Air Climb brings our community together in an inspiring way to advance lung health for all Wisconsinites. UnitedHealthcare’s support helps drive meaningful progress toward a future free of lung disease,” said Megan Cordova, Executive Director of the American Lung Association in Wisconsin.”

The first wave of climbers will begin making their way up 411 E. Wisconsin Center at 8:00 a.m..

Registration for the Fight For Air Climb Milwaukee is $35 and includes a $100 fundraising minimum. For more information, and to register, visit ClimbMilwaukee.org.
