Empower Steps Up to Sponsor Annual Fight For Air Climb

Family-friendly event returns to One Kansas City Place in March

Empower has signed on to be the presenting sponsor for the American Lung Association in Kansas and Greater Kansas City’s 10th Annual Fight For Air Climb in Kansas City. The family-friendly event will take place on Sunday March 2nd at One Kansas City Place.

Participants of all ages and fitness levels will climb the tower to raise awareness and funds to help find a cure for lung disease.

“This Fight For Air Climb is a wonderful opportunity for everyone to come together as a community to raise money for education and research to help end lung disease,” said Steve Jenks, chief marketing officer at Empower. We are honored to be the presenting sponsor of this year’s annual event, which helps bring awareness to the Lung Association’s mission.”

Climbers of all fitness levels, families, and corporate teams from across Kansas and Greater Kansas City are invited to challenge themselves by climbing 42 floors, totaling 902 steps.  

“Our Climb event lets people literally step up to help find a cure for lung disease,” said Linda Crider, executive director of the Lung Association. “Some 467,000 people in Kansas and more than one million Missourians are living with lung disease and funds raised at the climb will go to local services, programs and research we provide throughout Kansas and Greater Kansas City.”

The first wave of climbers will begin making their way up One Kansas City Place at 8:30 a.m.
