JACKSONVILLE, FL | October 5, 2020
On October 15, four Jacksonville celebrities will take to the virtual stage to raise money for the American Lung Association. The event will be a preview of the live Lip Sync For Lungs event, which is set for May 2021.
For the event, local celebrities execute lip sync performances to songs of their choice, all to win the top spot of Lip Sync Battle Champion. From now through October 15, anyone who makes a meaningful donation to the event will receive an invitation to the event. Additionally, from today through October 15, a silent auction with great local items including theme park tickets, restaurant packages, activities for the whole family, and more will be available to event attendees and the public.
“We are excited to bring Jacksonville a fun and virtual Lip Sync For Lungs event this fall, which will feature a fun preview of the celebrity lip sync teams who are performing at the spring event,” said Cindy Springer, development manager for the Lung Association. “During this challenging time, it is more important than ever to support lung health. We are proud that funds raised will help our ongoing efforts to end lung disease, as well as support our new COVID-19 Action Initiative.”
The October 15th lineup of celebrity performers includes:
- Emily McCarthy, Co-founder of GORUCK
- Jesse Whidden, Project Manager at Happy Cat Electric
- Yanira Cardona, Owner of Yaya Productions and Promotions Manager at iHeart Media Jacksonville
- Kira Sikes Group, Owner and Realtor Team of Sandbar Realty
Money raised at the Lip Sync For Lungs will fund the Lung Association’s efforts to end lung cancer and lung disease, as well as support the Lung Association’s COVID-19 Action Initiative. The COVID-19 Action Initiative is a $25 million investment to address COVID-19 and protect against future respiratory virus pandemics. The initiative works with public and private entities to increase research collaboration and develop new vaccines, detection tests and treatment therapies.
