The American Lung Association in Nebraska is happy to announce Green Plains Inc will be the presenting sponsor of the 43rd Annual Corporate Cup. More than 3,000 athletes of all running levels are expected to participate in the family-friendly event on Sunday April 21st.
This is Omaha’s premier running event, and it will once again be held at Aksarben Village. Runners can choose a timed 10K or 5K route that will take them through some of Omaha’s most scenic neighborhoods. There will also be an untimed 5K, 1 Mile or kids’ runs, plus a virtual “cup to-go” option for those unable to attend in-person.
“We are excited to be the presenting sponsor of the Corporate Cup again this year, supporting advocacy and educational efforts in lung health,” said Todd Becker, Green Plains President, and CEO. “Our emphasis on cleaner-burning fuels and sustainable processes resulting in better air quality aligns well with the American Lung Association’s mission. The Corporate Cup is an impactful event and Team Green Plains looks forward to participating each year.”
Green Plains has invested more than $150,000 with the Lung Association over the past few years, including seven years serving as the presenting sponsor of Corporate Cup, which aims to raise funds for the fight for clean air and healthy lungs. Omaha-based Green Plains produces cleaner-burning fuels and is undergoing a full transformation to produce a suite of sustainable ingredients for feed, fuel and bioprocessing.
“With the support of partners like Green Plains, the Corporate Cup helps us fund lifesaving research for better treatments and cures,” said Julia McCarville, Executive Director of the Lung Association. “More than 200,000 Nebraskans live with lung disease and Green Plains wants to help make the air we all breathe cleaner.”
The Omaha Corporate Cup steps off at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday April 21st. For more information, make a donation or to register, click www.OmahaCorporateCup.org
