Climbers Raise $130K at Fight For Air Climb Providence

Funds raised will help Rhode Island residents with lung disease

This morning 430 people laced up their gym shoes and took to the stairs of the Omni Providence Hotel for the American Lung Association’s Fight For Air Climb Providence.

Families, friends, firefighters and corporate teams climbed 22 floors totaling 348 steps to the top of the Omni to raise $130,000 (and counting) to help the 153,000 people living with lung disease in Rhode Island.

“We are very grateful to everyone that came out to support lung health and so proud of the funds raised,” said Daniel Miramontes, Executive Director of the American Lung Association in Rhode Island. “Thanks to the determination of our supporters and climbers we raised $130,000 to help ongoing efforts to end lung cancer and lung disease in Rhode Island.”

The Lung Association looks forward to next year’s Fight For Air Climb Providence and The Affair for Air Gala on November 13 at the Graduate Providence.  Learn more at TheAffairForAir.org.
