Climbers Raise Almost $300K at Comerica Park for Lung Health

800 participate in Lung Association event to help find cure for lung disease

This morning, more than 800 individuals gathered to raise almost $300,000 at the Fight For Air Climb Detroit. Seasoned competitive climbers, first-time participants, local firefighters and first responders, who climbed in full gear, took on the challenge of climbing up more than 1,300 steps at Comerica Park in downtown Detroit. The funds raised will go to supporting the 1.4 million individuals living with lung disease in Michigan.

“The funds raised today will go a long way in aiding efforts to end lung disease here in Michigan,” said Shannon Proctor, Executive Director for the Lung Association. “This event wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication and passion of all the lung health advocates and climbers who came out today. We are so thankful for their ongoing commitment to promoting lung health.”

The Lung Association looks forward to next year’s Climb event and the continuing support from the Detroit corporate and health community, as well as advocates and athletes alike.
