Diane S., IL

I quit smoking in 2011. I started CT scans in 2020 once a year. Last May 2025, a scan showed a new nodule, so my doctor had me redo the scan in August. The nodule had grown, so I went for a biopsy, which confirmed cancer.

I went for a PET scan, and there was no other cancer seen. I had a right middle lobectomy and just did my first CT scan after surgery. Everything came out good. I am cancer-free. I am so glad I had been doing the CT scans. I know if I hadn’t done them, my cancer would not have been caught early. CT scans saved my life.

I wanted to add that my surgeon and everyone involved were great. I was out of the hospital the day after surgery.
