I'm Frances, a 75 year old widow, mother of two and I have COPD. I was married for 32 years to a disabled Vietnam veteran. He was my childhood sweetheart; he passed away when my children were 4 and 14 years old.
I lost my father, brother and a cousin to lung cancer. I was diagnosed with COPD around 2017; finding this out after frequent hospitalizations. As an educator I suffered from shortness of breath, weakness and an inability to do my job effectively.
I also suffer from Meniere's disease, severe vertigo and PTSD. Despite these setbacks I survive!
COPD is a challenge. Oxygen is a necessity.
Dec. 25th 2020 my fiance and I were diagnosed with COVID. Stopped breathing and was brought back to life by GOD and my pulmonologist Dr. Rivas Perez. He calls me his miracle.
Because of insurance issues I had to choose a doctor from a different network. I chose Dr. Nader Khouzam, a compassionate caregiver at Oak St. Health.
In my lifetime I had ear, brain and breast surgery, and spent a lot of times in physical rehab hospitals.
