Mr. Nolan is an attorney with a civil trial practice in state and federal trial and appellate courts. For approximately 25 years, he has tried cases and advocated on behalf of victims of malignant asbestos lung disease and represented two major school districts and county governments in asbestos-related and IAQcost recovery litigation. His areas of expertise include the following: advocacy, environmental health, and lung disease. Mr. Nolan has been a volunteer with the American Lung Association since 1999. In 2008-09, he served as National Board Chair. More recently, he has served as Chair of the ALA's Audit and Risk Management Committee.
In addition to his work with the American Lung Association, Mr. Nolan is the vice chair of the board of trustees of the Community College of Baltimore County and he is a past member of the Maryland State Bar Association Board of Governors, past chair of the litigation section of the Maryland State Bar Association, past president of the Baltimore County Bar Association, and a past member of the Standing Committee on Pro-Bono Legal Service of the Court of Appeals of Maryland. Mr. Nolan previously served as a member of the Baltimore County Government Ethics Commission. In 1989, Mr. Nolan earned Martindale-Hubbell's AV peer review rating for professional excellence and he is recognized in its Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers.
