Former Major League baseball player

Tony Gwynn Jr. is a former Major League Baseball outfielder and current radio broadcaster for the San Diego Padres. Tony is a native San Diegan, attending Poway High School and San Diego State University. In 2003 he was drafted in the 2nd round by the Milwaukee Brewers and retired in 2012.

His commitment to the Lung Association was born out of his experiences growing up with asthma and later losing his father, MLB Hall of Famer Tony Gwynn, to cancer after many years of tobacco use. Today he is proud to be a Lung Association National Ambassador and member of the American Lung Association in California – San Diego Leadership Board while supporting and attending many Lung Association events and programs. He lives in San Diego with his wife and four children.
