My three oldest children (9, 7 and 5 years), as well as my wife, all have asthma. It is sad that our government representatives as well as the wealthy business executives over the Houston oil refineries choose profits over doing the right thing for people.
They assert that we will lose jobs if we tighten emission standards on Big Oil. Meanwhile Big Oil runs their Public Relations advertisements on TV that they care about the environment. If you really cared, you would choose to give up the miniscule profits that would be lost by complying with safer emission standards rather than spend your efforts on high-paid lobbyists and campaign contributions to avoid the higher standards.
