Kasandra L. B., CA

I was first diagnosed with asthma at the age of 4 in 1956. I have always tried to have a sense of humor about it--like I play acted I was a 90-year-old senior citizen and went from 4-years-old to 90 in the wink of an eye.

I don't mind making fun of it, but it makes me angry when others do. I feel it is a violation of my first amendment civil rights, because I have trouble speaking when I have trouble breathing. This has affected my quality of life,by denying me educational opportunities and employment others have been afforded who do not have asthma.

My daughter was also asthmatic.
