Erica S., FL

Since I have moved to Florida, I have found out that I am very sensitive to air pollution from factories and cars. I was at a festival celebrating the earth that was directly across from a factory where you could see the pollution pouring out of its smokestack. After a few hours of being in that area, I was having trouble breathing; my nose was running, and I eventually started wheezing. It made me light-headed, and I felt like I was suffocating.

I have had bronchitis twice in the past year. I have it right now actually. I have noticed that when I have bronchitis I am even more sensitive to the air pollution.

I also drive by a very smelly, toxic factory every day on the way to and from work. It makes me sneeze, my nose runs and it smells like sewage. On days when the wind blows that pollution towards the hospital I work at, I can smell it through the vents.

I am only 28 years old, and I don't smoke. I feel like I am being poisoned slowly, so I am moving to a cleaner air area.
