AdventHealth Embraces Lung Health Awareness as Presenting Sponsor of Lip Sync for Lungs

Today, the American Lung Association in Florida announced that AdventHealth has signed on as the presenting sponsor of the Lip Sync for Lungs event on November 10.

The Lip Sync for Lungs provides the unique opportunity for local celebrities to execute epic lip sync performances to songs of their choice, all to win the top spot of Lip Sync Battle Champion. 

“This original one-of-kind event vividly exemplifies every day professionals stepping out of their comfort zone in such a fun-filled entertaining environment, all for a great cause,” shares Dr. June Kim of AdventHealth Transplant Institute. “This is by far one of the most creative events we have sponsored in a long time! This eccentric event gives our organization the chance to highlight our company in an informal way, while at the same time making a direct impact on the Lung Association’s fundraising efforts.” 

“Through events like the Lip Sync for Lungs, we are able to fund our work to improve air quality, educate residents on lung health and COVID-19, and help people who live with lung disease,” said Janelle Hom, executive director for the Lung Association. “But we can’t do it alone. Our partnership with AdventHealth helps us provide vital support to the Orlando community and residents throughout Florida. From funding asthma education, to providing resources to those living with lung cancer, this support makes people’s lives better every day.”

AdventHealth has been a long-time partner of the Lung Association through their volunteer, program and financial support. Of most significance, AdventHealth played an instrumental role in helping to take LUNG FORCE, the Lung Association’s lung cancer advocacy initiative to the next level. Since the LUNG FORCE launch in 2014, AdventHealth’s support has been a foundation for assisting to raise over $700,000 locally to support the Lung Association’s efforts in lung cancer research, education, and advocacy. 

AdventHealth’s Central Florida Division encompasses more than 20 hospitals and ERs in the seven counties in and surrounding metro Orlando. The world-class hospitals, combined with a comprehensive outpatient care network, sees more than 3.4 million patient visits annually. AdventHealth Orlando — the division’s flagship campus — boasts nationally and internally recognized programs and serves as a major tertiary referral hospital for much of the Southeast, the Caribbean and Latin America. The organization has an expansive research portfolio with more than 500 clinical trials in progress.

Local celebrity judges will evaluate each of the performances. This year’s celebrity judges are Ted Bogert with Future Home Loans, Rose Kemp with Re/Max, Jason Wheat with Orange City Fire and Rescue and Asher Wildman with Spectrum News 13.
