Stakeholder engagement in eight comparative effectiveness trials in African Americans and Latinos with asthma

This study examined the effect of engaging stakeholders in the African American and Hispanic communities during the process of designing research protocols. This is important because it found that stakeholder engagement led to changes in the study design that increased study enrollment, trust and support of the community, which will improve effectiveness of community-driven research in health disparities. Coauthor Jerry Krishnan, MD, PhD, is a Lung Association ACRC investigator.
