This study found that a specific type of lung cancer with certain genetic mutations depends on a particular metabolic pathway, that when blocked, can make cancer cells more sensitive to treatment. This is important because it may lead to a new way to treat a very aggressive form of lung cancer by targeting its unique metabolic needs. Ji Yeon Kim, PhD, was awarded an Innovation Award for their work on mutations and metabolism in Lung Cancer.
