Hundreds to Lace Up Their Gym Shoes to Stomp Out Lung Cancer at Cantigny Park

Lung Association Walk offers participants two routes plus a health fest and live music

Whether you power-walk, strut or stroll! Grab your gym shoes and head to Wheaton’s Cantigny Park for the American Lung Association’s LUNG FORCE Walk, presented by Northwestern Medicine. The family-friendly event steps off on Saturday, September 16th with walkers, families, and teams from across Greater Chicago walking to stomp out lung disease and raise awareness for clean air, which climate change and the recent Canada wildfires impacting the nation have shown us is vital for everyone’s lung health. The festive fundraiser supports the Lung Association’s efforts to improve lung health and prevent lung disease through lifesaving research, education, and advocacy.

Participants can walk a 5K or 1.5-mile route that weaves through beautiful Cantigny Park, plus enjoy a family health and resource fest! Walkers can also bring their insurance card to get flu shots from CVS Health, plus they’ll receive oral health kits from Delta Dental, and they can meet representatives from Northwestern Medicine at an “Ask the Expert” tent to learn more about lung health. Participants will also find a kids’ zone play area courtesy of Luxe Dream Play, plus cotton candy, popcorn and face painting provided by Happy Jack’s, live music and much more.

The LUNGFORCE Walk family health and resource fest begins at 8:30am at Cantigny Park (1S151 Winfield Rd) in Wheaton, and the walks begin at 10:00am. Registration for the September 16th event is completely free! For more information, or to register for the event, visit LUNGFORCE.org/Chicago.
