On Saturday, June 3, 250 people gathered for the American Lung Association in South Florida’s Memorial Cancer Institute LUNG FORCE Sunset Soiree presented by the Erwin and Barbara Mautner Charitable Foundation. The event, held at the W Fort Lauderdale, raised over $216,000 for lung cancer research and efforts to end lung cancer and all lung diseases.
The Sunset Soiree is the premier luxury lifestyle event of the season designed to raise awareness, education, and critical funding to end lung cancer, the number one leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the US.
The Sunset Soiree was MCed by Augusto Valverde. the host of Global Child TV, and included a Style Lounge curated by Bungalow Bazaar, a tempting silent auction by Ginsberg Shulman Attorneys at Law, an interactive beauty bar presented by Tito’s Handmade Vodka, a selfie station by UKG, a Bubbles Bar by Pommerey, chance drawings by Hecker Dermatology & Robinson’s Jewelers, an exciting Wine Wall experience presented by Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits, and much more.
The event also honored the Distinguished Physician Award Recipient from Memorial Cancer Institute, Chief of Thoracic Surgery Dr. Mark Block.
Mission Inspire Moments sponsored by Broward Health and Approved Dispute Resolution enhanced the entire evening, while the Light the Way Luminary Procession, powered by Florida Power & Light, featured eight local LUNG FORCE Heroes and their powerful stories. One such LUNG FORCE hero was Memorial Cancer Institute patient Stacey Eisdorfer, who inspired hope for the future when she shared her lung cancer survivor story.
“We are so grateful that year after year the Ft. Lauderdale and South Florida community supports the Soiree continuing its tradition of being the hottest ticket in June,” said Sunset Soiree Chair, Jill Ginsberg, Esq. of Ginsberg Shulman, PL Attorneys at Law. “Together, we raised over $216,000 to help save lives and we can’t do it without the help LUNG FORCE Heroes, attendees, corporate partners and supporters.”
Money raised at the Sunset Soiree funds the Lung Association’s efforts to end lung disease and lung cancer through education, advocacy, and research.
