More than 1 in 4 Teens Vape: ALA Responds to New CDC Data on Youth E-Cigarette Epidemic

Statement from American Lung Association National President and CEO Harold Wimmer in response to the recent release of the National Youth Tobacco Survey data:

"The NYTS report shows 27.5 percent of youth are now using e-cigarettes." This number underscores the urgency to address the youth e-cigarette epidemic. The American Lung Association supports ending the sale of flavored tobacco products to prevent youth vaping, and strongly encourages additional measures, including immediately removing any product that came onto the market illegally after August 8, 2016; stopping online sales; and increasing the federal age of tobacco sales to 21."
