LUNG FORCE Gala Raises $191K at Children’s Mercy Park

Lung Association event kicks lung disease out of the park

Last night, the American Lung Association filled the local Children’s Mercy Park with nearly 300 attendees who enjoyed an evening of glamour and fun. The event raised $191,000 to support the hundreds of thousands of people in Kansas and the Greater Kansas City area living with lung disease.

“I couldn’t help but smile welcoming the finest lung health patrons to Children’s Mercy Park,” said Linda Crider, executive director of the Lung Association. “The attendees had a phenomenal time and benefitted from the lifesaving work of the Lung Association in our area and beyond.”

Presented by The Accurso Law Firm, the LUNG FORCE Gala lit up the stadium’s jumbotron and treated guests to culinary delights alongside a live auction. An accompanying silent auction also offered an eclectic range of goods from entertainment tickets to fine art.

“Watching the sun set over the stadium, I was so proud of all the Lung Association’s fervent supporters who made this night possible,” said Crider. “Together we are making huge strides to prevent lung disease, because when you can’t breathe, nothing else matters.”

Funds raised from the event will go directly to the services, programs and research the Lung Association provides in Kansas and the Greater Kansas City area.
