TAMPA, FL | May 19, 2022
Tampa resident, Beth Socoski is ecstatic to be taking the stage once again as a performer in this year’s American Lung Association Lip Sync for Lungs Live Battle V on May 27 at ZooTampa at Lowry Park. This unique, action-packed event features four local celebrities, in a wildly entertaining setting that raises funds to provide lung health programs in Florida and lung disease research.
“The past two years I’ve performed with my colleagues from Sunshine Health, remarks Socoski. “Sharing this experience with co-workers is incredible. I have cheerfully endured practicing many hours after work to see my co-workers in a different light, literally - in a wig, practicing dance moves in a parking lot hoping security doesn’t call the cops on us. Those unique shared experiences with a colleague are priceless,” Socoski shares laughing.
For this year’s performance, Socoski has chosen to include a few friends from Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, a leading-edge Order devoted to community service, ministry, and outreach to those on the edges, and to promoting human rights, respect for diversity, and spiritual enlightenment. “I’m excited to have this opportunity with my sisters and to support a community organization like the Lung Association in a less conventional way. We are looking to change preconceived notions about what you can do to get involved and support organizations that are important to you,” states Socoski, Medicare Compliance Director with Longevity Health Plan.
Socoski, who lives with asthma, reflects on the impact the Lung Association has made in her life and passionately shares her role as an advocate for the American Lung Association. “If you have trouble breathing more than a few times over the course of a month, visit your doctor. It is worth getting tested for asthma to save you from taking unnecessary PTO and a lung cancer screening could just save your life,” Socoski remarks matter-of-factly. Socoski currently serves as the Chair of the Local Leadership Board of The Gulf Coast for the American Lung Association.
Lip Sync for Lungs LIVE Battle V will be held Friday, May 27th at ZooTampa at Lowry Park. The celebrity performer with the most votes will win the top spot of Lip Sync “LIVE BATTLE” Champion. Learn more about the event, get tickets, and vote for your favorite celebrity at LipSyncForLungsTampa.org.
