EMC Insurance Companies Signs on to Sponsor 20th Des Moines Fight For Air Climb

EMC challenges area businesses to step up to the Climb and offers on-site preview tour

DES MOINES, IA | February 21, 2023

The American Lung Association’s Fight For Air Climb steps off in downtown Des Moines on Mar. 26, 2023. The family-friendly event will mark its 20th anniversary in Des Moines and EMC Insurance Companies will be the presenting sponsor for a fifth consecutive year.

“We are proud to be a presenting sponsor once again, and excited to be back in the buildings this year. This is one of my favorite events and it’s always a good time for a good cause,” said Scott Jean, President and CEO of EMC.

The 2023 Fight For Air Climb will be a four-building climb with participants scaling the following downtown Des Moines buildings:
  • EMC Insurance Companies,15 floors, 371 steps
  • The Financial Center, 22 floors, 464 steps
  • The Financial Center (2nd time), 22 floors, 464 steps
  • Ruan, 32 floors, 637 steps
  • Total of 91 floors and 1,936 steps
The Lung Association’s Fight For Air Climb is designed for climbers of all levels from beginners to experienced competitors. Jean says it also helps build employee engagement through fundraising plus team building through training.

“In the spirit of goodwill, I’d like to challenge all Des Moines businesses to send teams over on Mar. 26 to climb alongside ours and help raise money for and bring attention to this worthy cause,” said Jean.
