Hundreds to Gather for Lung Health Walk/Fest at Cantigny

Free flu shots, kids’ zone and 5K or 1.5-mile course inside the park to support and honor those impacted by lung disease

Save the date: this is not your everyday walk. On Saturday, September 16th, Chicago, and suburban area families will gather for a new way to support lung health. A new 5K walk route and a new family health and resource fest including free flu shots, live music, a kids’ zone and more.

It’s all part of the American Lung Association’s LUNG FORCE Walk, presented by Northwestern Medicine. Participants will also have the option of a 1.5-mile course that weaves throughout Cantigny Park to raise awareness and help save lives. WHO: Walkers of all fitness levels, families, and corporate teams from across Greater Chicago and suburbs.

WHAT: 2023 LUNGFORCE Walk

WHEN: Saturday, September 16, Fest begins at 8:30 a.m.; Walk starts at 10 a.m.

WHERE: Cantigny Park, 1S151 Winfield Rd, Wheaton, IL 60189

WHY: More than one million people in Greater Chicago suffer from lung disease and more than 9,000 people across Illinois die from lung disease each year. Funds raised from the event will support the Lung Association’s efforts to improve lung health and prevent lung disease through lifesaving research, education, and advocacy.
