In 2003 I was diagnosed with lung cancer and cancer of the trachea. I went twice a day for radiation - 8:30 am and 2:30 pm and had 10 chemo treatments. Then, in January 2004, a pneumonectomy was performed. The doctors told me I probably had a 15% chance of living one year. The doctor prescribed a chemo pill called Gefitinib 250 mg. to be taken once a day. The medication kept the cancer contained and I have been healthy and alive and it is now October 2015.

Before lung cancer I had breast cancer in the left breast. Then cancer in the right breast in 2011. I had lumpectomies on both breasts.

I'm proud to be a survivor of lung cancer. Great doctors, lots of prayers, a strong faith, a wonderful family and terrific friends have made life worth living.
