I was diagnosed with IPF in November 1999 via a lung biopsy. I started taking a medication in 2000, and over the next two years, I lost 30 pounds and experienced other stomach issues. My breathing tests stayed about the same over the two years. I was switched to a different medication, gained back 20 pounds, and had few stomach issues. With this new medication, I have more muscle aches and less stamina, but I would not return to my previous one. My breathing tests have decreased, some over the last year. The medication has worked, but the side effects are real and unpleasant.
