Former Miss Colorado Savannah Cavanaugh partnered with the American Lung Association in Colorado to help address youth vaping and lung health in Colorado.
“Colorado youth vaping is twice the national average, and it continues to grow at an alarming rate,” said Cavanaugh. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to call attention to this issue and to lend my support to the Lung Association to help curb this growing epidemic in any way that I can.”
Lung health hits close to home for Savannah as she lost her grandfather to lung cancer in 2001.
“I lost my grandpa when I was just 4 years old to stage 4 lung cancer. It is my wish that no person ever has to deal with the pain and suffering my grandpa and my family went through that comes with such a preventable disease and that no person has their life cut short by the end of a cigarette,” she said.
Savannah holds a BBA from The University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from Vanderbilt University. She will be sharing her story and passion for lung health at numerous events in Colorado this year.
