Loretta Que is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Duke University. She serves as the director of Translational Pulmonary Research at the Duke Asthma, Allergy and Airway Center and is the current Principal Investigator of the American Lung Association Airways Clinical Research Center (ACRC) program at Duke. She also serves as an associate editor for the American Journal of Respiratory Cell and Molecular Biology and is a permanent member of the Lung Cellular and Molecular Immunology study section of the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute . She is recognized as an expert in the study of imbalances in the airways and its relationship to airway inflammation and hyperactivity. She has been performing translational research in this area for the past 15 years and is currently studying the potential use of inhibitors to a specific enzyme as a treatment for allergic asthma on a National Institutes of Health RO1 grant.
