Lung Association’s Turquoise Tasting Returns to the Historic Duke Mansion

Today, the American Lung Association in North Carolina announced this year’s LUNG FORCE Turquoise Tasting will return to the historic Duke Mansion on Thursday, October 13.

As a one-of-a-kind cocktail reception, the Turquoise Tasting combines custom elements with unique food and beverage pairings, a silent auction, live music, a putting green competition and other interactive activities.

“We are honored to have Guardant Health, Rankin Wealth Management and Mecklenburg Radiology Associates, among others, join us again this year as LUNG FORCE Turquoise Tasting event sponsors. We value their commitment in helping accelerate our mission to bring an end to lung cancer through education, research, and advocacy,” said Jennifer Hall, executive director for the Lung Association. “We encourage new local companies to join us this year to celebrate advancements in lung cancer research and raise funding for the years to come.”

Lung Cancer is the number one cancer killer in the U.S. and here in North Carolina, it is estimated that 8,760 people will be diagnosed with lung cancer in 2022, and 4,750 people will die from the disease. “Increasing awareness of lung cancer is key to securing research funding and can ultimately save lives,” said McCay Manwaring, LUNG FORCE Chair and Executive Director at Amgen. “These past two years have presented incredible challenges for everyone, especially those living with lung disease and lung cancer. The Turquoise Tasting is an engaging fundraising event that will provide hope to people with lung disease and lung cancer, while also funding life-saving lung cancer research.”
