American Lung Association in Kentucky Leadership Board Awarded Gold Standard Distinction

Honor recognizes the highest level of volunteer engagement in Lung Association fundraising, awareness building and mission delivery in support of the organization’s life-saving mission.

The American Lung Association is proud to announce the naming of the Lung Association in Kentucky Leadership Board as recipient of the organization’s highest distinction, reaching the Gold Standard level of service. This designation recognizes the all-volunteer Kentucky Leadership Board’s nation-leading achievements in fundraising, mission execution, awareness building and advocacy efforts in support of the Lung Association’s mission to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease.

“I am thrilled to accept this honor on behalf of the American Lung Association in Kentucky’s Leadership Board whose singular vision always has been to make our state a healthier and better place to live,” said Jenise Edwards, Chair, Lung Association in Kentucky Leadership Board. “Until lung disease is eliminated, we continue to welcome leaders from across Kentucky to join us in this important mission.”

To achieve the “Gold Standard” distinction, Leadership Boards must reach aggressive benchmarks of Board Operations, including ensuring diversity, equity, inclusion and participation, Fundraising and Mission Engagement in their regions. To date, only a total of ten Leadership Boards have reached this level of distinction, with many others attaining Silver or Bronze status on their way to Gold.
