Local Real Estate Leader Takes Charge Leading Lung Association’s Lip Sync For Lungs on November 10

Unique fundraising event to raise money to end lung disease, COVID-19

Today, the American Lung Association in Florida announced that the 5th annual Lip Sync For Lungs presented by AdventHealth Orlando will take place at the SAK Comedy Lab on Thursday, November 10. The announcement included news that Heather Hurry, marketing director for Pillar to Post, will serve as the Event Chair.

Hurry is no stranger to the stage as she performed in school and church throughout her life. And most recently, her spit fire personality and deep voice were perfect for her show stopping Lip Sync for Lungs performance last year when she performed Pat Benatar’s ‘Hit Me with Your Best Shot’. “You have got to come see for yourself,” Hurry shares excitedly. “This event it is not only freakin’ hysterical to watch, but also benefits a great cause that everyone has a connection to whether we realize it or not. Each of us knows someone living with lung disease like asthma, COPD, recovering from COVID or has had a loved pass away from lung cancer. These connections are what makes this unique event so worthwhile and inviting to everyone,” exclaims Hurry.

During the height of COVID, Dick Abraham, Hurry’s father in-law passed away from pulmonary fibrosis and it was the kindhearted gestures of Janelle Hom, executive director with the American Lung Association that provided Hurry and her mother in-law the mental support they needed to get through that time. Hurry is reminded daily of Abraham, as she strives each day to live by his strong principles of ‘family first’, hard work and serving others.

Looking ahead, Hurry is excited to serve and lead the charge for this year’s Lip Sync for Lungs. For the event, local celebrities execute epic lip sync performances to songs of their choice, all to win the top spot of Lip Sync Battle Champion. Former Lip Sync Battle Champions include The Young Lawyers Division of the Orange County Bar Association, led by Brandon Sapp, Steve Gunter of The Taproom at Dubsdread, Tony Sos of Dellecker Wilson King McKenna Ruffier & Sos, and Nate Carn and Armando Castenada who represented various fire departments in Volusia County.

“We are so happy that we will be able to bring our community together safely for this fun and very unique fundraising event,” said Janelle Hom, executive director of the Lung Association. “We are proud that funds raised will help our ongoing efforts to end lung disease and lung cancer.”

This year’s celebrity lineup will include:
