The American Lung Association issued the following response to the release of Governor Gavin Newsom’s proposed 2024-2025 budget:

“California’s leadership on tobacco control, health care and pollution reduction is at an important inflection point with our current budget challenges. It is imperative that our state continues to put forward actions and investments needed to confront generational public health challenges. The Lung Association looks forward to working with Governor Newsom and our legislative leaders to ensure California maintains momentum in the fight for clean air and a stable climate, quality affordable health care and a tobacco-free future for all.”
